How To Play Faster On The Tuba (For Beginners)

Instructions

1) Not Too Fast- Not Too Slow – The purpose of this exercise is to show what its like to do a lot of 16th note articulations in a row. Pick a tempo that challenges you, but doesn’t push you to make poor choices with your articulation, or wind speed.

2) Mix It Up- The purpose of this is similar to the first, but with a new rhythm. Go up and down any scale with the patterns from exercise 1 or 2 to ‘mix it up’ even more.

3) Fast Fingers- The purpose of this is to get your fingers moving! If your able to do exercise 1 and 2, faster than exercise 3, then you don’t have fast enough fingers!
